Research Advancement Committee and Journal Extension Opportunity

The FIE 2026 Research Advancement Committee plays a key role in enhancing the impact of early-stage research and helping the authors convert their papers into journal manuscripts. This committee rigorously evaluates submissions to the FIE conference and selects those with strong potential for extension into full journal publication. Selection criteria include:

• Quality of the paper judged based on topic, methods (or intended outcomes)

• Potential to develop into a journal-worthy manuscript

• Relevance to the conference theme

• Relevance to Journal objectives

The committee reviews all accepted work-in-progress papers and full papers that indicate the possibility of extension against these additional criteria, identifying the highest-quality papers. The selected papers are invited to submit an extended manuscript for consideration in a special issue of our partner journal. The committee will send guidelines for the submission in their invitation emails.
